Top 5 Travel Essentials For Her

Updated: Nov 13, 2018

Hi there, Melissa here! We all know that we have our own unique travel style, which translates into what we pack. I tried to stray away from the usual items that most people travel with - phone, laptop, camera, toiletries, etc. Whether my travels are within the country or international, here are my top 5 travel essentials that I can't go without.

This is the PacSafe Citysafe convertible bag that can act as a backpack or a crossbody bag. I take this bag almost everywhere when I travel. I personally love this bag because it is so versatile and includes many security features that you almost can't not travel with it.

Features include:

  • It is slashproof.

  • It is lightweight.

  • It has zipper safety features to make it difficult for someone to get into.

  • You can lock it to a chair or table.

  • It is more stylish than most other bags.

A few downsides to this bag are that the straps will tend to slip in backpack mode. I found that tying a hair tie to the top of it will prevent it from slipping. Also, the bag does not have an outside pocket for water bottles, but I've found the bag to have enough room inside to fit one in. Great bag overall.

Travel size Wet Ones make it easy to bring them along!

I simply cannot travel without having wet wipes, hand sanitizer, or baby wipes. Unfortunately the risk for getting sick comes with traveling, so I do my best to try to prevent that from happening. Wet wipes are perfect for wiping down airplane tray tables and arm rests, your hands when restrooms aren't readily available, and hotel door handles, tables, and TV remotes (because who knows who or what has touched them). They have travel packs so they're easy and convenient to travel with. Hand sanitizer definitely goes hand in hand with this as well.

Airborne boosts your immune system & helps to prevent you from getting sick

To pair having wet wipes to prevent sickness and bacteria from spreading, I also like to travel with Airborne Gummies or vitamin c supplements. Airborne specifically has vitamin c and other minerals that help in boosting your immune system, which is much needed when traveling especially during long flights. I prefer to buy the bigger ones from Costco or Sam's Club if you can find them, transferring them to a ziploc bag (easier to travel with and get into than the bottles itself), and marking the bag with a sharpie saying "Airborne" or "vitamin c" on it. Plus the gummies taste great so it's almost like having a little treat!

Black Mini Portable Charger
This is the one I currently use. The nice thing about this one is that it has built in prongs that you can plug into an outlet!

In a world of technology, we are constant phone users, and I can't count myself out of that. Often times to pass the time in an airport, airplane, or other means of travel time that takes up to 24 hours or more, I am playing games on my phone or typically on social media. This is where a power bank comes in handy. Yes there are outlets in airports, but having a power bank gives you the freedom to sit wherever you would like and even charge your mobile device on the go. Have one or two good power banks fully charged and you should be good to go for the whole trip!

*Bonus: If you're traveling internationally, I would recommend bringing the Skyroam Solis. This little orange puck acts as both a global wifi and power bank in one! One of the nice features of having this wifi hotspot is that there are absolutely no commitments. You either pay as you go for a per day price, or can buy up to a month for a one time payment. I had a regular sized flat iron that I used to bring with me everywhere I traveled because bad hair days happen, and it doubled as a curling iron for me as well. Only downside to bringing it everywhere with me was that it did take up a good amount of space that I could have used for other items. This is where I discovered mini flat irons when a friend gave me one as a gift. The mini version was so much more portable and convenient to bring around! There are also so many options of flat irons to choose from - different levels of heat, different colors, different widths, ones that includes gloves or pouches. Whichever ones floats your boat, no more bulky full sized hair straightener during your travels. Now I travel in style with my mini.

These are just my top 5 travel essentials of many. Whether you decide your future travels include one of these items or all of these items, I hope you enjoy and have safe travels!
